Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette | Review & Swatches

21:59

So the beauty world has gone oh so crazy over highlighters and to be honest, I'm okay with it. I wasn't a big highlighter fan when everyone started raving about them but once I found one that suited my skin tone and wasn't too chunky then I fell in love. This current must-have highlighter will not break your bank and also has a shade for pretty much every skin tone. I am talking about the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette.

So since I had seen this circling around in the beauty world I was dying to get my hands on it and to try it out, I also had very high hopes as all I had seen were good reviews, even Jaclyn Hill was raving about this so it must be good right? Right!

Sleek describe this as being a versatile face and body highlighting palette designed to suit all skin tones. There are four shades in palette which are quite cool tones as you can see.
Ecliptic - top left - this is a cream highlighter which is a beautiful light nude shade. It is not too pigmented but pigmented enough to give you a lovely glow. I don't particularly like cream highlighters or products in general because I usually find them hard to blend.
Hemisphere - top right - this one is a baked highlighter powder. It is a pinky lilac colour that transforms into a light silver colour once applied to the skin. This is probably the most unusual highlight shade that I have ever come across and to be honest, I was a little sceptical when I tried it out because I'm quite pale and I thought it would look really strange on me but to my surprise it didn't. You just have to make sure that you are using a light hand because these are very pigmented highlighters.
Subsolar - bottom left - this is a silky shimmer powder highlight that is almost a pale gold colour. It is quite intense when applied to the skin, so perfect for anyone who likes a good strong highlight. I tried this one out first and I really liked it, it was very intense at first but once I got used to it I fell in love with it.
Equinox - bottom right - Just sometimes you have to save the best one till the last. This is another baked powder highlighter that has a peach, gold shade to it and it is just stunning! I do have to say though, if you have a light skin tone like me then in some lights this can look purple. But if you go over it a little with subsolar then it looks gorgeous. I do have to say that this shade is definitely my favourite and the one that I reach for almost everyday. I also think that Equinox is quite similar to Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter.

Along with the four gorgeous highlighters the Sleek Solstice Highlighting palette comes with a brush which, to be honest, is pretty rubbish and very scratchy. The shiny gold palette features a well sized mirror. You could take this palette anywhere with you and use the mirror to touch up your makeup. The palette is compact enough that you can just throw it in your handbag or your makeup bag and be good to go.
Overall, I would say that this highlighter palette is a must have, for only £9.99 you get four highlighters in a lovely well sized compact. You can grab this highlighting palette from boots here

Have you got this palette and what one is your favourite? Or are you wanting to get your hands on this? Let me know what you think.
