I have to be honest, MAC lipsticks hold a little special place in my heart as they were the first 'proper' lipsticks that I owned, I felt like such a grown up when I bought my first MAC lipstick. I have noticed that recently the prices of these lipsticks have slowly started to creep up, however they're still in the middle of high street and high end prices. I also remember that people thought these lipsticks were the be-all and end-all of the lipstick word and I have to admit that unfortunately that isn't true, there are so many more affordable and sometimes even better lipsticks out there. However, there is something about MAC that always seems to draw me back in.
You know you are onto a good thing when it's been around 6 months and you haven't bought a MAC lipstick.... maybe not. After picking up my first ever MAC lipstick around 2 years ago (I'm new to the bandwagon, okay?!), I have increasing become obsessed and have formed a small but much loved collection of their lipsticks in 6 shades. So, I know that is isn't the biggest collection ever but I would like to think that this collection represents me (there are a lot of nudes) in some way. I thought I would share my little (but loved) collection with you guys.

Now onto what's in my lipstick collection:
Faux - Satin
Faux (Satin finish, permanent in MAC's collection): this shade is definitely my most perfect my lips but better shade. It is very similar to my natural lip colour, but has a little more of a pink undertone and a slight mauve tint to it too. It is definitely one of the many nudes that I own but more on the lighter side and I like to wear it with a slightly darker lip liner underneath. This is the perfect shade for everyday wear but you could wear it at night time too with a darker lip liner.Brave - Satin
Brave (Satin, permanent in MAC's collection). Before you say anything, yes Faux and Brave do look almost identical! But any makeup addict will tell you that a slight colour difference is all we need to convinve ourselves that we need both. Brave is a soft, warm pink, which is my go to 'my lips but better' colour - you can pretty much throw this on without a mirror and it will always look beautiful. Brave is definitely one that I would recommend if you are only just starting out with lipstick.
Ruby Woo - Retro Matte
Ruby Woo (Retro Matte, permanent): This is a bright cool toned red shade that has strong blue undertones. I would have to say that it has the driest texture and finish among all MAC lipsticks so I would suggest applying it with a lip brush instead. I do love this shade on my skin tone though as it is my perfect red.Velvet Teddy - Matte
Velvet Teddy (Matte; permanent): I caved into the hype and bought this as my first ever MAC lipstick and I am not mad about it one bit. This is your classic brown-toned nude matte lipstick. I actually don't think this is my favourite nude on me personally but I just had to see what all the fuss is about! It can be a little too cool toned for me and make me look really pale and sometimes even ill. However, I like to pair this with a more pinky nude lip liner so it makes the overall colour more pink.Whirl - Matte
Whirl (Matte; permanent): MAC describes this lipstick as a 'matte formula with a dirty rose colour'. I do agree with the colour description, however this isn't a full on matte lipstick like Ruby Woo is. I am kind of glad about that though, as there is something about MAC matte lipsticks that I'm not a big fan of as it makes my lips really dry. With this one being a semi-matte with a moisturising sheen over it means that it is not as drying as the normal mattes and doesn't leave my lips all cracked.Angel - Frost
Angel (Frost; permanent): Angel has a semi-sheer finish to it but it's opaque enough to make your lips light pink, but it's not totally opaque. It also has a shiny finish to it, nothing major so it's a perfect, everyday colour in my opinion. This can be worn day or night and I love that! Angel is a soft pink that is very versatile and can be worn by people with olive, fair and even dark-skinned beauts. I would have to say that it is a blue-toned light pink with some macro shimmer in it, thus it being a Frost finish. It isn't too bright but it isn't too pale either and I actually love wearing it during the day.
l hope you enjoyed having a little nosey into my MAC lipstick collection. I also have a few other products from MAC that I may review in the future. I do have to say though that there are many other more affordable brands out there that do lipsticks of the same quality or even better.
